  • The Game runs great - I don't see any errors

  • This game is truly epic. It's got a great story, great gameplay and it's challenging. It also doesn't run dry either so you can easily play for a couple hours each day.

  • I've got it's disk and tried to make an iso of it , was 700 mb

    after I compressed it with rar Im shocked of the puny size!

    it's only 79 mb!!!!

  • This was the precursor of Parasite Eve's battle system (and maybe FF 12's). The Item system is unique and the story line was up to par with FF tactics in sheer mind boggling complexity. A good action adventure/RPG game.

  • The frame rate is a little buggy, but the sound quality is great :)

  • Don't Forget that this game, Final Fantasy tactics and Final Fantasy 12 all take place in Ivalice :D

  • If there ever was a game that needed a next-gen remake, it's this one. Any generation console should have games this epic.

  • Outstanding game - to me, it's the finest PS1 RPG ever made. For those wondering about the size: the game isn't that big because it doesn't use pre-rendered graphics, has a single small CG and doesn't feature voice acting (this last one's a shame.)

    The second disc was a bonus with some Square demos, promotional videos and stuff. Not even Vagrant Story related, actually.

  • It's not a two disc game. It did come in a two disc jewelcase though because it had both a gigantic manual and I believe the ubiquitous Square Demo disc.

  • This game looks good one of the many i didnt get to play on the PSX but these .mds and .mfs file won't burn to disc to play : as backups on the PSX console : anyone have any ideas on how to get these working on the actualm console ?

  • RARs are usually used for compressing, so I'm guessing this file is so small because it was compressed greatly. Don't you just love technology?

  • This is a game will never forget when I had the ps1 and I dont get tire of playng it..... It was deserved if this game had remake or continuation.....

  • The game is very intresting, but the complexity with the items and the very high difficult bosses in he begining makes it too boring.

  • Very good game, bit difficult to begin with but it does have a quick manual included in the in-game menu. The item system is unique and fairly complex, using just one set of equipment or weapon wont cut it im afraid.

  • If you are on a mac and toast won't mount the mdf file. Just rename the .mdf to .bin and the .mds to .cue and mount the .bin file. I just tried it and it started so hopefully it won't have any problems.

    Anyways, this is a great game and I can't wait to play it again on my laptop!

  • a fine rpg if there ever was one. the thing that i found only slightly annoying was weapon building. but like i said, only slightly annoying, Damascus Romphia with max stats... god that took HOURS to do.

  • For the .mds/.mdf confusion... I found it works fine if both files are in the same folder and you run the .mds file. I'm using ePSXe... I don't know about anything else, though.

  • holy jebus! This game was a rare find, if you were lucky enough to have this game then I can tell you were happy, it was challenging yet in a good fun way.
    The story was complex and in depth it was ridiciolous, so much drama, the characters were so unique.
    Gameplay was pretty unique from what I could tell, difficult to grasp, but once you ve got a hold of the whole affinity system its fun, and hell, you have to play the game at least twice to get 100% cause there's mutliple rooms and paths to get to your goals.
    The game's a true piece of gaming gold, sadly square never kept up with it, but I suppose it makes the game all the sweeter, would most definitly reccommend this game for a rpg lover or even a dungeon crawler fan.

    GAMEPLAY:8/10 (Hard to get use to but fun once you've grasped it)
    SOUND:8/10 (Really well composed, suits the theme of the game greatly)
    STORY:7/10 (Complex and well indepth, a few things left unexplained though)
    OVERALL:9/10
